The beginning

To me, it all begins and will probably end with the question:
‘Who am I?’
A human? A woman? A mother? A partner? A friend? A teacher? A teacher trainer? A musician? A photographer? An artist? An interpreter?
A companion? A counsellor? A mentor? An impostor…?
So many questions that most of the time I feel lost. Not many answers found, really. I wanted to start writing this blog as a teacher and a teacher trainer. Then I thought: I’m much more than that and, on the one hand, it’s obvious, no explanations needed. On the other hand, though, me being a teacher/teacher trainer is affected by all the other questions and possible answers, or the lack of them, isn’t it?
Last month, just before Christmas, I finished an online course, ‘Being a Teacher Trainer’ (Sheffield University). Not only did it broaden my knowledge or open new teaching perspectives for me, but, most importantly, it awakened something that had been deeply ingrained in me. All my life I’ve dreamt of creating things. Various things: family, friendship, music, art, atmosphere, good lessons, anything. I have never been able to create life, I don’t have such powers, but I definitely played some role in bringing to life my three children.
One of the things I have always wanted to do is a blog.
That part of me which has been a teacher for so many years wanted a blog. ‘A BLOG? Are you out of your mind? Who do you think you are? What do you have to offer? You???’ There’ve been many more undermining thoughts in my head which I’d rather not mention for all our sakes. However, during the course, I realized that writing a blog, as any other area that I have been creating in life, is essentially important for me (sorry guys…), for my growth as a person, a teacher and a teacher trainer (and as for many other parts of me).
So, here I am, noting down my first thoughts, for the blog which I hope I am open to see where it desires to lead me. I am starting a journey and if you want or are curious to join me, you are more than welcome.
